RBI Assistant Exam :The full form of RBI is Reserve Bank of India. It is an apex body that regulates multiple banking and non-banking businesses. Reserve Bank of India is a statutory authority formed through the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1935. RBI has four zonal offices, nineteen regional offices, and ten sub-offices in India.

The main aim and objectives of RBI are financial inclusion and stabilizing the economy of the country. The body is completely owned by the Government of India, therefore, the posts offered by the RBI are termed as the government job.

 Eligibility Criteria

All the candidates are required to check the RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria before applying for the posts released by RBI. The candidates must have the prescribed educational qualifications and must fulfil the age criteria to apply for the job of Assistant official as offered by the Reserve Bank of India.

 Age Limit

The minimum age limit to apply for the post of RBI Assistant is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years old. However, there are relaxations of age for the candidates belonging to different reserved categories.

The relaxations in age limit are provided according to the government norms. The details of category-wise age relaxations are given below.

 Educational Qualification

  • All the candidates who wish to appear for RBI Assistant Recruitment Exam must hold a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of at least 50% of marks in any relevant discipline from any recognized university/ institute.
  • Candidates must hold efficient knowledge of Computer Applications.
  • Candidates must have knowledge and proficiency in the official language of the concerned state or union territory by the respective candidates.

Exam Pattern 

The RBI Assistant is a three–tier-based examination. Candidates have to clear the Prelims as well as the Mains examination for the final selection. The candidates who qualify in the Preliminary exam are shortlisted for the Mains exam and then the Language Proficiency Test. The final selection will be done on a merit basis.

The RBI Assistant Prelims exam is an objective-based exam that will be conducted in an offline mode. There will be a negative marking in the RBI Assistant  Exam. ¼th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern

RBI Assistant Prelims exam has 100 questions of 1 mark each. No marks are deducted for leaving the questions unattempted but wrong answers have a negative marking of 0.25. The Preliminary exam includes multiple subjects and domains as mentioned below.

The Reserve Bank of India declare the results of the RBI Assistant Exam on its website after the conduction of the examination. Once the result is released, candidates can check their RBI Assistant results on the official website of RBI.

 Cutoff 

The cutoff for RBI Assistant will be released on the official website of the Reserve Bank of India after the conduction of the exam. As the cutoff list for  is not released yet, the candidates can check the RBI Assistant cutoff of each section for Mains 2020-2019 mentioned in the below table for an approximate idea. The authorities also release the state-wise list of overall cutoffs for each category.

Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of merit. The following are the stages of the RBI Assistant selection process.

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Document Verification

Amongst all the candidates who apply for the RBI Assistant exam, the eligible ones are called for the Prelims exam. Those who clear the Prelims have to appear for RBI Assistant Mains exam. For the candidates who clear the Mains round, a counseling session is conducted to provide them with preferred options for the posting. In the end, they are called for the Language Proficiency Test and Document Verification round.

 Salary and Benefits:

RBI Assistants are eligible to get multiple allowances such as house rent allowance (HRA), dearness allowance (DA), compensatory city allowance (CCA), transport allowance, etc. The details of RBI Assistant pay scale are mentioned in the below points:

  • The basic pay of RBI Assistants is approximately Rs. 14,650 per month (Rs 13,150 including two increments in advance for graduates).
