TNUSRB Exam Notifications, Eligibility & Syllabus – Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) conducts a state-level recruitment exam every year for the post of sub-inspector. The exam is conducted to recruit eligible fresh candidates for the Tamil Nadu Police force .The applications from both, fresh candidates and departmental candidates are invited by TNUSRB every year. Candidates who have a graduate degree from a recognized university can apply for the TNUSRB Exam . The TNUSRB exam will be conducted offline.

TNUSRB SI  Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold the nationality of India and should be a resident of Tamil Nadu State only.
  • Any candidate who holds the residency of any other state will not be eligible to give the TNUSRB Exam.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must have completed their graduation from a well-recognized government university or institution with a 10+2+3/4/5 pattern or 10+3+2/10+3+3+3 pattern in diploma courses.
  • Candidates must have studied Tamil in Class X or XII to be considered for the TNUSRB SI Exam.
  • Candidates who have finished their degree from distance education/open universities/colleges after completing SSLC and ITI in the 10+3+2 pattern are also eligible.
  • Any applicant who has done their graduation from an open university with a 10+2+3 pattern is not eligible for TNUSRB SI Exam.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age to participate in TNUSRB SI Exam  is 20 years. And the maximum age applicable for candidates to give this exam is 28 years.
  • Candidates belonging to the police department and have completed five years of service can give this exam up to the age of 45 years. This relaxation is for the students who are participating via departmental quota.
  • Candidates who are Ex-personnel / ex-servicemen of Central Paramilitary forces can give the TNUSRB SI Exam up to the age of 45 years.
  • The Tamil Nadu State Government has given age relaxation to SC/ST, Minority, OBC as tabulated below:

How to Apply Online for TNUSRB SI ?

The procedure to fill the TNUSRB Application Form  is given below:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of TNUSRB.
  • Step 2: Click on the “TNUSRB SI Application Form” link available on the TNUSRB Official website. A login page will be displayed.
  • Step 3: If you are a first-time user then select the “Create New User” option.
  • Step 4: Fill in all the required information like your mark sheets, contact number, caste certificate, etc. Upload the necessary documentation like Passport size photo etc.
  • Step 5: Verify the details and submit the TNUSRB SI Application form
  • Step 6: After filling the application form the candidates have to pay the application form fee.

TNUSRB SI Hall Ticket

TNUSRB will release the TNUSRB SI Admit card 10 to 15 days before the exam. One can download the admit card from the official website of TNUSRB. Each candidate must carry the TNUSRB SI Admit Card with them to the exam centre.

How to Download TNUSRB SI Hall Ticket?

The steps to download TNUSRB SI Hall Ticket are:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of TNUSRB.
  • Step 2: On the portal, click on the “Download Admit Card” link.
  • Step 3: Then provide your login credentials, such as application/user ID and password.
  • Step 4: Your admission card will appear on the screen; download it and print it for future reference.

TNUSRB SI Exam Pattern for Open Candidates

TNUSRB has allotted 70 marks in total for Part A and Part B of the TNUSRB SI exam for the open category candidates. The candidates will be given 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the exam.

  • Part A of the question paper will consist of the questions from General Knowledge. There are 80 questions of 40 marks in part A.
  • Part B of the question paper will consist of the questions from a larger syllabus. There are 60 questions of 30 marks in part B.
  • All the questions are of objective type in both the papers.
  • There is no provision for negative marking.

TNUSRB SI Exam Pattern: Departmental Quota

For the departmental quota candidates, TNUSRB has allotted a total of 85 marks (total of both Part A and Part B) for the paper. The candidates will be given a maximum of three hours to complete both sections. The candidates must score a minimum of 30 marks to qualify for this round.

  • Part A of the question paper will consist of the questions from General Knowledge. There are 30 questions of 15 marks in part A.
  • Part B of the question paper will consist of the questions from a larger syllabus. There are 140 questions of 70 marks in part B.
  • There will be no negative marking.

Selection Process

Stage-I: TNUSRB SI Written Test

The TNUSRB SI Written Test  will have two parts, Part A and Part B. Moreover, Part A will consist of 30 questions and Part B will have 140 questions. It is the first step towards your selection for TNUSRB Sub Inspector Post, You must qualify well it the required marks to reach the next Stage.

Stage-II: TNUSRB SI PMT/ PET/ ET Tests

In this stage, the candidates have to pass the various physical body tests. The candidates have to clear the PMT/ PET/ ET tests to qualify for the further round, i.e, the interview round.

This test is to be given by only open quota applicants. All of the applicants who are participating in the TNUSRB SI Exam  by departmental quota are exempted from the physical fitness tests. But departmental quota applicants have to give endurance tests.

TNUSRB SI Endurance Test (ET)

After qualifying for the PET test, candidates have to pass the Endurance Test (ET). The details of the Endurance Test (ET) are given below.

Stage-III: TNUSRB SI Interview Round

Candidates who will qualify for the previous tests and round will be applicable to give TNUSRB SI interview round. The interview round will test the candidate’s communication skills. Moreover, the interview round will consist of 10 marks for Open candidates as well as departmental candidates.

Result 2022

Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board will release results for the Sub Inspector Post Exam on its official website. The result will be out after the TNUSRB SI Exam will be conducted. Moreover, the TNUSRB SI results will be released for Open Category Candidates and Departmental Category Candidates.
